Yesterday I did an easy 4 mile recovery run which brought my total mileage for the week to just over 37 miles! That’s a good way to end Week 1 of Ultra training, eh? And after today or tomorrow’s 4 mile run I’ll have another month of 100+ miles!

My typical weekly running schedule includes speed, easy, hills, long, and recovery. I’m not doing tempo runs this go-around since I’ll be using intervals for all long runs. Intervals make me happy :)
Have a great week!
You are so awesome! And I agree, I finally found my running mojo using intervals. 1:00/:30 really seem to be working well for me! I’m going to be signing up for the Bix race today. It’s a 7-mile race at the end of July that I did last year, and I’m looking forward to using the 1:00/:30 intervals this year.
Intervals are great! It can take a while to figure out which work best for you, though. You are awesome!!
Thanks! And you are awesome! Both of you! :)
I sometimes use 1:00/:30 when I do jog/run intervals, so I might have to try that with the walk breaks. And it looks like I’m heading back to the running store for narrower long run shoes instead of wider… me and my shoe dilemmas ;)
Isn’t it way too hot to race in July?! Be safe out there!! <3
Last year it wasn’t that bad! And there is cold beer waiting when I’m done! :-) It’s such a fun race; I don’t want to miss it!
I hear ya! Have a great time :)
You’ll be happy to know I revisited intervals on my easy run today. Seemed to work well. I have some thoughts on why, but I’ll save that for the blog. ;)
I don’t think I’ve ever done more than 30 miles in a week & since this training cycle is just started, I am waaaaay below that. But that’s ok. Seems I often end up injured by fall – although it’s happened in the spring, too – so I’m good with less for now.
Here’s to another great week of running!
Oh good! I can’t wait to read your thoughts :) And maybe the intervals will help with injury prevention!
Hopefully! I’m good so far & want to keep it that way.
