Back in the Saddle

So, I have good news and bad news.

I’ll start with the good. I was able to run today! I’m feeling almost normal again – just a tiny bit of lingering dizziness. I took it easy and did run/walk intervals of 6:1 after a quick warm-up.

The bad news: See where I made the red circles on my new PureFlow 2s? That’s where my big toes are. In other words, they are definitely too big to run in :(

More good news: After I initially tried them on and thought they were kinda big, I immediately went back to the site and ordered a smaller size. And they’ll be here tomorrow! So once I ensure that they fit, I’ll send these back and get an extra pair of the right size. And maybe even grab one more pair in the other color. I can totally justify it too since they are only $42 ;)

This morning’s weigh-in was 117.6 and here’s what I ate today:

  • Breakfast: Muesli with walnuts, non-dairy chocolate chips, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • Lunch: Black Bean Sriracha pasta with roasted red peppers and 2 tbsp jarred salsa
  • Snack: 1 heaping tbsp Dark Chocolate Dreams (peanut butter) with a few Reese’s peanut butter chips
  • Dinner: Chipotle black beans w/roasted red peppers and scallions (I’ll be posting this recipe on #MeatlessMonday) with Minute brand Whole-grain Medley and Red Hot Blues.

That’s about it from this end.

    • I’m thinking more like 1 full size – since I run on my forefeet, my feet do slide forward a bit. If the ones that come today don’t fit right I’m gonna take the drive to Road Runner tomorrow.

      • Going to RoadRunner might be for the best. I thought youth sizes usually corresponded to men’s sizing. I buy my Converse in a 3 but wear a 5 in women’s.

      • Hmmmm….I guess we’ll see. What size do you wear in regular shoes? I wear a 6.5 or 7 in running shoes, so I’d assume I’d need a 4.5 if I got the youth but that may not be true. Actually, I decided I like the PF3’s better than the 2’s so I won’t be trying out these youth ones.

  1. I wear a 6 or 6.5 in regular shoes (not that I even know what regular shoes are anymore ;)) and a 7 or 7.5 in running shoes. That’s why I went with the youth 6. I was trying to avoid going to the running store because then I will be broke! Lol!
