Tales from the Treadmill

While that’s been the situation lately more often than not, I got on there today and banged out a 10k in just over an hour (1:01:05 to be exact)! Prior to this I did have a good speed-work session on Saturday, but between the massive amounts of snow we’ve had lately which has resulted in no work ( i.e., no gym), and to be honest, just utter laziness/complacency, I have no excuses. It’s not that I haven’t been running at all. I have. Just not as much as I’d like. For example; my goal is to run 100 miles/month – my 30 day mileage right now is 60-something miles.

I also haven’t been diligently tracking my food, which (naturally) has resulted in a (4 pound) weight gain. Yes I know 4 pounds isn’t a lot, and yes I know that I can gain/lose 5 pounds in a day or two, but by not tracking/blogging I’m not being accountable, and that’s the biggie for me. I need to be accountable to someone, even if it’s anonymous readers ;)  Just putting it out there helps me, and so that’s what I’m doing.  The scale read 122.5 this morning. There, I said it. Ugh.

And my other reason for the lapse in posting, which is stupid really, is that I just don’t like WordPress as much as Blogger as far as ease of use goes. I actually considered starting over again with a new blog, but that just means having to come up with a new name, design, etc… and I really don’t want to be bothered with all that! So here I am, and I’ll try to stick with this.

  1. Hi Laura, I gained 4 pounds during the holiday season, and it changed how all of my clothing fit and everything! So yeah, I feel ya on this one. But the great news is that just getting back on track made it go away so quickly. It will for you too.

I love reading how excited you are about your running. <3
