Current situation:
That would be my knee wrapped in 2 different braces.
On Monday morning’s walk with Lucy, she and I turned one way (squirrel), but my knee went the other. I heard/felt a POP and suddenly I couldn’t walk. Usually, I have pretty good ninja-like squirrel-avoidance skills, but we were walking with a couple of Lucy’s friends and I didn’t have the room to maneuver around quickly enough. That, or it was just my dumb luck. Ugh.
I went to the doctor (you know it’s bad when I actually go see the doctor) on Wednesday, who took one look at it and referred me to the orthopedic surgeon. Guesstimate: torn ACL/meniscus (most likely) or broken bone under my knee cap (less likely). I had x-rays taken and went home.
I see the orthopedic surgeon on Monday, and in the meantime I’m supposed to stay off of it, and keep it elevated/iced. Needless to say, there will be no running in the immediate future :(
I’ll post an update as soon as I have a diagnosis/prognosis.
Sending you my love, girl! Hang in there!
Thank you!! <3
Oh no!! Bummer!!! Big hugs!!
Thanks! <3 I'm starting to feel like every time I begin a training program, I'm jinxing myself :/
Like me getting to about 2 weeks before a half marathon and then having some issue. One of the reasons I stopped racing.
Exactly. It’s another reason why (when I do decide on a race) I don’t register until right before race day!
Oh boo! Sorry to hear this! :(
Thanks Jennie!
Oh NO! Healing prayers are being said for you!
Man, that sucks! Hang in there, you’ll be healed in no time! I’m around if you need to vent, cry, scream, whatever! <3
